Windswept

I think there were a lot of great views that day on Spruce Mountain. One of the things about the windward side of cliffs and boulders in Colorado is the tangled, twisted trees that grow, warped and battered by the highly variable weather. The saying is, "if you don't like it here, wait twenty minutes or drive twenty miles," and the trees and plants here tell that story in the twist of their boughs and their broken comrades that tumble down nearby.
