I'd ridden past this park several times when exploring out past the 24. The whole area is beautiful and the roads are a blast to ride through: twisty canyons.

On a bit of a lark, I decided that today was the day and decided to start hiking in my riding boots and jeans. I learned a couple important things:

• Don't hike in my riding boots
• Look for hikes which are "up out, down back"

Blisters aside, I ended up getting caught in the rain on the way back. No regrets, it's beautiful up there.
