Dark Path

While hiking around the top of Spruce Mountain, just north of Colorado Springs, I saw this area cut up and leading down into a dark path in the woods. Was it a giant bear? A monstrosity from another age? Probably just a temporary maintenance trail that's starting to grow back, but it grabbed my eye.
